Why OneBillionPageViews Has Failed

well the site has been going six months? maybe more and its only at 800,000, so say even if we said it had got to one million, One billion is a, million million so even giving it the benifit of the doubt it will take 500,000 years to reach its target! and since its been around a while, the hit rate is slowing down, i doubt it will make it past a million and a half, see links section

There are just over one billion people using the interweb (and that's the thousand million billion, not the million million billion - let's hope the guy isn't insane enough to aim for the million million billion). The site isn't exactly what I'd call "sticky" - people who have visited it once are pretty unlikely to go back to it often. Let's just say that, for the sake of argument, the over 1 million current page views are all genuine individual people (and that he didn't just bump up the counter to make it look better, for example). In order to hit the million page views stage, those 1 million people would all need to go back to the site, not a few times, not once every few months to check the progress, but A THOUSAND TIMES. Can you honestly say that you will visit that sit ONE THOUSAND TIMES without getting a little bored of the whole concept?
